RANDOM THOUGHTS: So last night, on the eve of my 55th birthday, as normal, right before bed, I used the restroom.
As I was "sitting" there and finishing up, just minding my own business...I leaned. When I did, there was a fairly loud snap and everything in life suddenly shifted. Luckily, upon inspection and to my great relief, the snap was not my spine, hip, collarbone or any other important part of my body. What is was, was my toilet seat.

JOURNAL: In the last few months, two things that I have been praying for, for a long, long time have made sudden progress. When I was praying and thanking God for these things, God had a moment with me where He suddenly reminded me of a great truth.

SHORT THOUGHTS: Today, I am thankful for all the little things I see all around me that make me smile and sometimes outright laugh. I am thankful for the sunrises and sunsets, the awesome beauty God finger paints in the skies on a daily basis and for all the wonderful things in creation that He has made for me to live in.

JOURNAL: Now I love manuals. Whenever I get a new product, I almost always save the manual, even if I know that I may never, ever look at it again. When I was younger, I use to put them all in a big file in a filing cabinet and every now and then throughout the years, I have actually had to go find one to get some useful information out of it. But most of the time that does not happen. Most of the time they just sit in the filing cabinet year after year, some way past the time I even have the pr

JOURNAL: I work for a large company in Boise. It takes at least 10 minutes to walk from one side of the company to the other. And that is if you walk pretty fast. They have many parking lots to accommodate all the people and depending on when you come in, you can have a bit of a hike walking in to your building.

JOURNAL THOUGHTS: These verses (Ezekiel 36:26-27) at the end of this story are part of my memory verses. This morning when I was going through my verses and recited these two, I stopped and thought more about them.

RANDOM THOUGHTS: This morning I typed the word, ponder. I have used this word many times in my life but today...it revealed itself more personally to me. It occurred to me in a epiphany...that this is the true definition of the word.
Ponder: To think about something deeply while walking near or around a pond.
Yes, it is true...Ponder is the joining as one of pond and wander. In mathematic form, it is...pond + wander = ponder.

JOURNAL: Last Sunday afternoon, I watched football to see who would make it into the super-bowl while I worked on an old friend. I set up a table in the middle of my living room, laid out a towel, took my old friend off the wall and laid him gently down on his back for the procedure.

SHORT THOUGHTS: In the midst of the pain that comes with this life, there is still lots of happiness and joy to be found if we work on the things we "can" change and lay down the things we cannot. If we refuse to allow the bad to make us miss all the blessings that are still here right in front of our faces, we will begin to see that happiness and joy are still all around us...just waiting for us to notice them.

RANDOM THOUGHTS: Today, I went to Sportsman's Warehouse with my son inlaw, Casey. While we were there, we thought we would look at some of their camo gear. We took a look around and I was amazed at their lack of seasonal camo merchandise.
I was so disappointed, I took a couple of pictures of where it should have been so you could see for yourself this monstrous merchandising failure. (M.M.F.)
If you are looking for camo gear, don't bother looking there because you certainly will not find it.
