SHORT THOUGHTS: In this picture are my planned snacks for today. Planning ahead and being intentional in this way helps me to stay on a healthier track and avoid making bad choices.
It doesn't mean I still don't make bad choices at times because I do but it puts good choices in my view and then it is up to me to choose them.

SHORT THOUGHTS: I believe hard times can be blessing or a curse. But it all depends on how we respond to them.

SHORT THOUGHTS: It was a great day today. I just out barked my dog, Peanut Butter Wood. She started barking at nothing as she often does. So instead of fighting it like normal, I decided to join in with her. When she barked, I barked. When I barked, she barked more. When she barked more, I barked more. When I barked more…well, you get the picture.

JOURNAL: Two days ago, we received our first snow of the season. We were only expecting an inch or two accumulation throughout the day. It came after the morning rush hour traffic so that was great and probably saved a lot of accidents.

JOURNAL: First there was this huge crash, followed by a few thumps and then...silence. Deafening silence!!!

JOURNAL: Of all the things we "think" we need in this world...of all the things we do to fill the cracks, holes and voids in our lives and entertain ourselves with...nothing will last, all will fall short, all will grow old and all will lose their luster except for ONE thing.
This ONE thing is what we were made for and what our spirit, soul and body all yearn for way deep down inside at our inner most being.
This ONE thing is the perfect piece for what is missing in us all, what we lost in the garden of Eden when sin came between God and man.

JOURNAL: This last Sunday, I had something fun happen. My wife and I had something get in the way of us being able to making to church. When we got back home, we turned on the TV thinking we were going to listen to Bob Caldwell who is the pastor of Calvary Chapel in Boise, Idaho. He is usually on about that time on Sunday morning but we did not see him on the program schedule.

SHORT THOUGHTS: I was thinking about rude-Abagas (rutabagas). It seems to me that this is the only kind of Abagas we ever hear about. Did these vegetables get a bad rap somehow?
I wonder if there are actually nice ones out there somewhere and we have just never heard of them. It's the rude ones that make a better story, the rude ones that get all the interviews on TV and the rude ones that get a spot on Dr. Phil?

SHORT THOUGHTS: Change is a hard thing for sure. But if you don't like where you are and you continue to do the same things you have been doing, nothing will ever change...nothing will ever be different. A definition of insanity that I like is, "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."
Change starts with doing something differently than what has brought you to where you are now...something that will lead you in the direction you want to go. But in the end, it will not happen without you choosing it. It all starts with you.

JOURNAL: God often shows me something in the simplest things in life. And so it was again last week while getting ready for work.
I have a little routine I run in the morning while getting ready to leave for work. I do all my bathroom events and after the scores come in from the judges, I move on to the kitchen floor events. This is where God decided to teach me that day.
