SHORT THOUGHTS: So do you think that if Dr. Frankenstein had used a lot more of this Frankincense, that his son's life may have turned out totally differently than it did?

SHORT THOUGHTS: We are weak and fragile but our Savior is strong and mighty. All our strength, all that we are, comes from Him. Without Him, we are all lost.

2 Corinthians 4:7 (NIV) But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

SHORT THOUGHTS: I really love corn on the cob, even if it is just a mini one from the Idaho Pizza salad bar.
Sometimes, things come in ways we don't expect or appear looking differently than we thought they would and can slip right by unnoticed if we are not careful.

SHORT THOUGHTS: There are so many things in this world that just don't make sense. There are so many things that happen that there are just no good answers for.
One day, on the other side of eternity, it will not be like that. All the pieces of the big puzzle will be in place and we will see the whole picture...the finished product and understand it all. All tears will be wiped away, all pain healed, all wrongs will be made right and death will be no more.

SHORT THOUGHTS: God often shows me things or teaches me in the simplest ways in life. Maybe it is because that is what I need or maybe it is because I notice. Either way, it's all good. Last night was another quick lesson.

SHORT THOUGHTS: When I read the verse Genesis 50:20 from the story of Joseph...it just reiterates to me loud and clear that we never, ever really know what God is up to. We might think we do at times but really...we just don't have a clue. It is so much bigger than us and our humanly view.
There are things in this life that make some kind of sense to me and many, many things that do not and probably won't on this side of eternity.

SHORT THOUGHTS: Our great God is personal and cares about and knows every detail of our lives. He uses everything in our lives to talk to us right where we are at. If we are listening, we hear Him. But even when we are not listening, He is still there speaking to us, reaching out to us...always working on our behalf...always waiting for us to turn towards Him. Like the father in the story of the prodigal son, He is always watching and waiting for our return, waiting for us to respond, no matter where we are at or where we have been.

JOURNAL: This past summer, my wife, Denice and I did a lot of work up in Cascade, Idaho. You see, we bought a half acre of property up there to have a place to camp and be able to keep our travel trailer on and setup, as much of the year as possible. It is a lot of wear and tear on our travel trailer as well as our truck and also on me, to pull the trailer back and forth the eighty some miles to and then back home from our camping spots every time we decide to go camping. So this chunk of land was a great thing for us for sure and it was so much nicer to just have it al

SHORT THOUGHTS: Not all things are meant to be held together as they might have always been. Sometimes we have to let things go and let things become whatever they become.
We may want and see something a certain way in our lives but that does not mean what we see and want is what is best. Sometimes God’s best for us looks very difference…wait…almost always…God’s best for us looks very different than what we think it should look like.

SHORT THOUGHTS: Psalm 115:2-8 were the verses from my reading this morning in my closet time. There were more verses after this and one before but I just kind of stopped reading like there was a stop sign when I got to these. Then I read them again and maybe even again and absorbed them.
The last verse just spoke so loudly to my soul. We become like our idols. Likewise, my logic tells me that the concept is also true that when we follow God, we begin to look more and more like a son or daughter of our Loving Father.
